Shannon Foundation Awads Teacher Grant Awards
Shannon Foundation awards $15,000 in 2010-2011 teacher grant awards Fri., Aug. 20th 10:00am CATEC
The Edgar and Eleanor Shannon Foundation for Excellence in Public Education: Charlottesville/Albemarle
has announced its grant award recipients for the 2010-2011 school year.
Twenty-one excellent and innovative proposals from Charlottesville and Albemarle public school teachers have been selected for funding this year totaling almost $15,000. Each winning grant reflects a commitment to creative and effective teaching that will benefit local public school children for years to come. Please see our list of winning teachers and grants below.
We are proud this year to have been able to fund these grant awards despite a very challenging economic environment.
We are deeply indebted to friends like you for your commitment to the endowment gifts which fund the Shannon awards, and look forward to being able to reach even more teachers and students in the years to come.
We would be honored to have you join us for an awards ceremony to recognize publicly these winning teachers' outstanding achievements. The ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, August 20th at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Technical Education Center on Rio Road.
