Agnor-Hurt
Elementary School is one of sixteen elementary schools in the Albemarle
County School Division. Agnor-Hurt is located on Berkmar Drive, which
runs parallel to Route 29, the major access road to Charlottesville and
Albemarle County. The school opened its doors to students on September
8, 1992. It is situated on a hill that overlooks the foothills of the
Appalachian Mountains. The site includes 20 acres, surrounded by woods,
and includes an Eastern Woodland Village living history museum, soccer
field, baseball diamond, amphitheater and playground.
The spacious and
beautiful facility opened its door to students on September 8, 1992. It
has a large library, cafeteria, gymnasium with a stage, an Art Room,
Music Room, Computer Lab and 30 full sized classrooms with 15 support
rooms. The Agnor-Hurt district includes areas west and east of Route 29
to the north fork of the Rivanna River and is a part of the northern
feeder pattern. Its students will later attend Jackson P. Burley Middle School or
Jack Jouett Middle School; all of its students will attend Albemarle
High School.
