The Albemarle County School Board commissioned a Resource Utilization Study in June 2007 as a strategy for achieving its strategic goal for establishing efficient systems for development, allocation and alignment of resources to support the division's vision, mission and goals.
The study was conducted over a five-month period by the Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute (CEPI) at Virginia Commonwealth University.
The CEPI team, led by Dr. William Bosher, a former Virginia superintendent of schools, presented the Resource Utilization Study Report to the School Board on December 6, 2007. The report includes 176 findings and observations, and 117 recommendations in eight focus areas.
At its December 6, 2007 meeting, the School Board set a schedule for reviewing the report results and determining short-term and long-term priorities for in-depth exploration by School Division staff. The School Board's follow-up plan is shared below.
