School Improvement Plan (SIP)
Summary 2008-09



Goal One:  Build a strong learning community where all students can achieve. Our sub-goals include:
a.)  Building a healthy learning community (Staff Development started in 2007 and continues).
b.)  Positive reinforcement and recognition.
c.)  Continued decreased classroom disruptions; fewer Out-of-School Suspensions; implementation of Support Center model.
d.)   Greater ownership of school community projects (including our Mary Underwood Courtyard Garden project).

Goal Two: Continued and increased math achievement for all students. Our sub-goals include:  
a.)  Continued focus / achievement for all membership groups.
b.)  Continued growth in advanced pass rates.
c.)  Continued collaboration and use of formative assessment (Exit Slip approach).

Goal Three: Continued and increased reading/language arts achievement for all students. Our sub-goals include:  
a.)  Continued focus / achievement for all membership groups.
b.)  Continued growth in advanced pass rates.
c.)  Continued collaboration and use of formative assessment.
