Math, Engineering & Science Academy (MESA)

MESA will begin accepting applications for freshman and juniors on January 1st for the 2010-11 school year.  Completed applications are due by February 1st, 2010.  In the event that February 1st is a snow day the deadline will be extended until the first day students are back in school. 

The applications (will be available early to mid December) and blank letters of recommendation are available at the links below. A complete MESA application includes the 2-page application, the answers to three short essay questions, a personal statement and three letters of recommendation, two of which must be from the student's current (or most recent) math and science teachers."

Applications may be returned to your school's guidance counselor, or may be faxed or mailed to Albemarle High School. Applications are due no later than February 1st, 2010.

The Admissions Review Team will notify applicants of their admission status by March 5th.  Fifty students will be admitted for the 9th grade class.  A waiting  list will be established as needed. For more information, see the Admissions Timeline link at left.
