Albemarle County operates 16 elementary schools that serve children in a particular geographic area. Although each school follows the same general curriculum as approved by the County and the standards of learning as adopted by the Commonwealth, each school community is unique, and clubs and enrichment offerings vary. Albemarle County is a large and diverse county, with distinct communities and histories. These unique qualities are reflected in our community schools.
