My name is Matt Landahl and I am proud to be the principal of Mary C. Greer Elementary School. The 2009-2010 school year will be my 17th year in the field of education. After graduating from Grinnell College, I began my career as a fourth and fifth grade teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools for five years. I was placed in my job through the program Teach For America. I then came to Charlottesville to work on my Master’s degree at the University of Virginia. During that year, I served as an intern assistant principal at Buford Middle School in Charlottesville City Public Schools. After graduating with my Master’s degree, I was an assistant principal at Burnley-Moran Elementary School in Charlottesville City Schools for two years. My last placement before Greer was as the principal at Paul H. Cale in Albemarle County Public Schools for six years. I will try to bring great energy and enthusiasm to Greer and help make it the best school it can be! |
