2008-2009 Golden Apple Award RecipientSchoolCenter Picture

One candidate is selected to represent their school and receives a Golden Apple, as well as gift certificates from local businesses. As a "Golden Apple" teacher, each candidate is then eligible to receive a Golden Apple Grant ($1000). Grants are awarded to eight (8) candidates: 3 elementary, 2 middle, and 2 high school candidates of the public schools in Albemarle County and Charlottesville City and CATEC, and to 1 candidate from the schools that are members of the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS). The grant award may be used to support the candidate's continued professional development.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION CONTINUES!  
Kindergarten registration was March 24.  If you missed it please come by and register your child as soon as possible.  Bring your child's birth certificate and 3 proofs of residency.  Come by and see our school and ask questions.  The more we know about the entering class the better we can plan.

Crozet Elementary received the Virginia Board of Education's VIP Excellence Award, given to only 475 public schools in Virginia. This award is new and a result of the Governor's efforts to recognize schools in which significant numbers of students are achieving high levels of competency across multiple achievement measures including:
 
1) Meeting all federal and state achievement benchmarks for two consecutive years
2) percentage of students achieving advanced levels on Standards of Learning assessments
3) elementary reading achievement
