ESOL Course Offerings

 

Albemarle County Adult Education offers year-round Beginning to Advanced level English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to adult learners from througout Central Virginia.  Our students not only work on improving their English language skills, but they also learn about the United States, the Central Virginia community and the many services and opportunities available to them here.
 

Summer 2010 English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Classes

Communication Skills (Intermediate to Advanced Levels)
This class helps intermediate to advanced level students improve their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.  Students have the opportunity to practice English in small group settings that give individualized help for their particular needs.  $125
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:30-11:30am.  June 15 - August 19, 2010.

Pronunciation Skills (Intermediate to Advanced Levels)
This class helps students improve their English pronunciation skills.  Practice with stress, intonation, linking, inflectional endings, as well as individual sounds (both vowels and consonants).  $125
Thursdays, 6:30-8:30pm.  June 17 - August 19, 2010.

Path to U.S. Citizenship (All Levels)
The test for U.S. Citizenship changed significantly in 2008.  Path to U.S. Citizenship helps students preparing to take the test for United States naturalization, as well as answering questions about the Citizenship process.  $50
Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm.  June 15 - August 17, 2010
