Driver Education in-car training will be provided this summer at the AHS driving Range.
Students should choose from the following schedule. Number your first 3 choices. No classes Saturday or Sunday.
Classes are two hours in length. Choose from the following times and the following sessions:

Registration for Behind the Wheel:
To take in-car training a student must have a valid Virginia Learner's Permit, completed
36 hr. Driver Ed. Classroom, and completed 15-20 hrs. of their driving log. To reserve a
training section the student must present his/her Learner's Permit and pay the $290.
tuition at the time of registration as well as turn in the VA Dept. of Ed. Parent Permission form and the Parent Seminar certificate.
Registrations will be handled in room 98 at Albemarle High School. Due to summer office hours (9am-2pm), call Community Education at 975-9450 to schedule an appointment to register (to be sure someone is in the office).
To register by mail, print the registration form & VA Dept. of Ed. Parent Permission form
(see Registration Forms & Manual on the home page). Include a check for $290. payable
to Albemarle County Schools, Certificate from the free parent seminar, and a copy of
Learner's Permit (we must be able to read issue date & customer number). If the
student did not take classroom at an Albemarle County High School, the DEC-1 "green" card
showing completion of Driver Ed. classroom must be included. Your registration is not complete until the office receives all the required paperwork listed above.
