Hollymead Elementary School
School Supplies for 2009-2010

The grade level teams have compiled a partial list of school supplies that students will need as they begin the next school year. We hope that this list will help students prepare for the new year.  Students' supplies may be brought to Open House on August 20th.

Kindergarten: All supplies are used by class as a community.  PLEASE no names needed on any materials.
1 (2  pocket) plastic folder of choice, 1 (2 pocket with 3 prongs) plastic folder of choice, 1 see-through letter size plastic Velcro or string closure envelope, 1 SMALL bath sized towel for resting, 1 large box tissues, 1 pack "sticky backed" VELCRO (any size), 2 marble composition notebooks, 10 ELMER'S glue sticks, 1 package Clorox bleach free wipes, 1 pack colored pencils or twistables, 1 box thin or thick markers, 2 large Kindergarten pencils, 1 box crayons.  BOYS - 1 box of gallon sized baggies, GIRLS - 1 box of sandwich sized baggies.

First Grade: Box of 24 Crayons, set of markers, set of 12 colored pencils (Crayola twistable preferable), scissors, two packs of pencils, four jumbo glue sticks, three marble covered composition books, a three ring binder (1"), two plastic folders with paper fasteners (red and blue), school box (5x8"), one box of tissues, boys-hand sanitizer gel, girls-Clorox disinfecting wipes, 1 box of ziplock baggies (boys-gallon size; girls-snack or quart size) 1 roll of paper towels (optional).

Second Grade: Four 100- page composition books (no spirals), 1 GRADE 3 composition book from Staples (Red), 1 one subject spiral notebook, 1 box of No. 2 pencils, erasers, 7 folders with pockets (2 red, 2 green, 2 dark blue and 1 purple), 3 PACKS of glue sticks, children's scissors, markers or crayons, colored pencils, plastic homework folder, 1 box of tissues, 1 fabric pencil bag w/zipper (standard size), and 1 package of thin Expo dry erase markers.  Boys should bring in one box of sandwich ziplock bags and 1 roll of paper towels. Girls should bring in one box of gallon ziplock bags and 1 container of Clorox wipes.

*Third Grade: One large box of tissues, 4 composition books (marble cover type),2 one-subject notebooks (green and purple), 2 bright colored checking pens, 2 highlighters, colored pencils, markers, 1 package of Dry-Erase markers, 24 pencils (not mechanical) to share (Ticonderoga brand are the best!), children's scissors, a 3- ring binder (1 ½"), 5 folders with pockets without paper fasteners (red, green, dark blue, purple, one choice for homework), 2 glue sticks, and pencil tip erasers (to share). Boys bring 1 box of gallon size ziplock (freezer) bags and Clorox Wipes; girls bring 1 box of quart size ziplock (freezer) bags and 2 rolls of paper towels.  Everyone, please bring 1 see-through plastic Velcro envelope sized 13" X 9 ½".

*Fourth Grade: **Binders will not be used** The following supplies need to be purchased for individual use. Students will keep these supplies with them the entire year: 5 VINYL folders with clasps and pockets in these colors: red, yellow, blue, green and 1 folder of your choice; 5 composition books, wooden pencils (no mechanical); student dictionary and ruler to have at home. The following supplies need to be purchased and NOT MARKED WITH NAMES as they will be communal classroom supplies: 2 boxes of tissues, 2 glue sticks, colored pencils, markers, 2 dry erase markers, 1 highlighter, roll of paper towels, 2 packs wide-ruled loose leaf paper, wooden pencils for communal use, erasers, 1 box of Ziplock baggies (girls-quart size, boys-gallon size) and one of the following: girls-Clorox wipes, boys-hand sanitizer. PLEASE NO PERSONAL SCHOOL ITEMS LIKE PENCIL BOXES.

*Fifth Grade: One box of tissues, large zippered binder, *seven dividers to go into the binder, 2 packs of wide-rule lined notebook paper, *two (2) composition (marble covered) notebooks, *one clipboard (the cheap hardboard ones are fine), 2 or more packs of pencils (to share and one for your own use-Ticonderoga, if possible), one box of colored pencils, one pair of scissors, glue sticks (3 pack suggested), highlighters - preferably in colors other than yellow. Mrs. Cline's and Mrs. Daugherty's classes please bring 1 box of snack size ziplock baggies, Mr. Briedis-Ruiz's and Mr. Matriccino's classes bring 1 box of gallon size ziplock baggies, and 2 red checking pens.
*Note: Other than student name, please leave notebooks and dividers unlabeled and your teacher will direct you on how to label them. 

Supply List for Ann Lancaster: 24 box of crayons, pencils, scissors, composition notebook, spiral notebook, pencil box, glue sticks, kleenex box, roll of paper towels, antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, black sharpie, liquid hand soap, inexpensive set of headphones (can be purchased at the Dollar Store), timer (Dollar Store), 15 two-pocket folders (5 blue, 5 yellow, 5 purple), erasers, Playdough, and 8 pack of AA batteries.

*Note: Third through fifth graders are required to purchase a Hollymead Planner. These will be available the first day of school.
