When is Mustang Morning Time?
Monday - Friday
9:00 - 9:30 AM
Period 1 (or 2) will begin at 9:36
What is Mustang Morning Time used for?
Research shows that if all students receive the exact same amount of instructional time, then the individual results will vary. Some students will have received enough instructional time, but some students need a little bit more. We have built in to our schedule a way for every student to receive individualized instructional time with teachers outside of class, but during the school day.
So when does School Start?
School ALWAYS starts at 8:50 AM and Mustang Mornings begin at 9:00 AM. If you are NOT assigned to be somewhere during "Mustang Mornings", then you can arrive at 9:30 (providing your own transportation). Mustang Morning has no effect on the bus schedule.
Are all students assigned to be somewhere at 9:00 AM?
Some students have LONG TERM placements. These placements span at a minimum through the current grading period. A re-evaluation of a LONG TERM placement is done at each grading period.
Some students may have a SHORT TERM placement. This occurs when a teacher gives a student a pass in advance to come see them for additional help on a regular schedule.
On occasion, a teacher may give a student a pass requiring them to attend one or two sessions rather than schedule them for a regular, recurring time.
In all instances, students will know in advance where they are supposed to be. If there are any questions about where they are required to be, please call and we will provide you with that information.
Can a parent request that a student without an assignment be assigned somewhere?
Please contact your child's teachers and setup Mustang Morning assignments.
What if a student is required to be somewhere and does not show or is habitually late?
Mustang Morning time is school time and students who choose not to report will be reported through the Discipline Referral System.
What can students do if they are not assigned somewhere?
Passes Can Be Obtained In Advance or At the Gate for the Following:
Computer Lab (M107)
Media Center
No Pass Is Needed for:
Cafeteria (Serving Breakfast)
Forum (Quiet Study)
Gym*
*Students must have their planner with their Mustang Morning assignment sticker in order to be admitted.
Can students leave the building if not assigned somewhere?
No. Once you have arrived at school by bus or personal transportation, you must stay here. Parking lots will be monitored to ensure students are not leaving the property.
If you are not required to be somewhere and have personal transportation, you may arrive at 9:30 AM.
Can students hang out in the parking lot or in the front of the building?
No. Immediately upon arriving, you must report inside the building.
