Benjamin F. Yancey Elementary School
is a rural school located on 7 acres in the Scottsville District. The
service area is from the Hardware River south to just west of
Scottsville Road, crossing Route 6 at Scotland Farms to the Buckingham
County line and all areas west of that line to Applebee Mountain Range.
Representative areas and communities are Alberene, Esmont, Schuyler and
Howardsville.
Students
feed into Walton Middle School and Monticello High School.
Instructional facilities include a library, cafeteria, and gymnasium.
An after-school program is available. The school play areas and
multi-purpose fields serve as a community park after school hours.

- Turn Right on Plank Road (Rt 712) and immediately go left at the fork on to Esmont Road (Rt 715)
- Go 3 miles and turn Left onto Route 627 (Porters Rd)
- Go 2 miles, Cross over Rt. 6 and Yancey Elementary School is on the left
