Albemarle County Public Schools-Central Administration Office is housed at the County Office Building -Third floor
DIRECTIONS TO COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING
The Albemarle County Office Building is located at the intersection of McIntire Road and Preston Avenue in downtown Charlottesville at 401 McIntire Road.
From the North
If you are coming from Rt. 29 North, take Rt. 29 South to Charlottesville:
Before you get to the turn-off ramp, you will pass (on the right) some of the following landmarks: The Double Tree hotel, Rio Hill Shopping Center, Holiday Inn, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Aunt Sarah's Pancake House. Just past Aunt Sarah's, you will see a bridge. The exit ramp is to the right just after you go under the bridge for the Rt. 250 East By-pass to Richmond. Once on the by-pass, go through 2 stoplights, and at the third stoplight, turn right (onto McIntire Road). Go 8/10 of a mile on McIntire Road (mostly residential). The County Office Building is on the right hand side of the road. Turn right into the parking lot closest6 to the building. You will see the Visitor's Entrance sign. Enter the building by way of the Visitors' Entrance.
From the South
If you are coming from Rt. 29 South, take Rt. 29 North to Charlottesville:
Take Interstate 64 East exit (to Richmond). Exit Interstate 64 onto 5th Street (Exit 120). Turn left onto 5th Street (the Holiday Inn will be on your right). Go through six stoplights (McDonald's is on the left just before the sixth stoplight). After 6th stoplight, the County Office Building is immediately on the left (corner of Preston Avenue and McIntire Road). Turn left into the upper parking lost closest to the building. Enter building by way of the Visitors' Entrance.
From the East
If you are coming from Interstate 64 East to Charlottesville:
Take Interstate 64 West to Charlottesville. Get off at the 5th Street exit (Exit 120). Turn right onto 5th Street (the Holiday Inn will be on your right). Go through six stoplights (McDonald's is on the left just before the sixth stoplight). After 6th stoplight, the County Office Building is immediately on the left (corner of Preston Avenue and McIntire Road). Turn left into the upper parking lost closest to the building. Enter building by way of the Visitors' Entrance.
From the West
