VOLUNTEERS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS - VIPS

THANK YOU for your interest in volunteering in Albemarle County Schools.

Every day, students and teachers across our school division benefit from the generosity of volunteers, like you, who take the time to share their talents with our children. Whether chaperoning trips, helping sort materials, landscaping, assisting a child with his/her work, or the countless other tasks performed by volunteers, your contributions are vital to the continued operation -- and success -- of our schools.

If you would like to enroll in the Albemarle County Public Schools Volunteer Program, please complete a short online application to help us match your availability with needs in our schools. Once you are selected to volunteer, you will be asked to sign a volunteer code of ethics, and to attend a short volunteer orientation about our skills and how to best work with young people. All of our volunteers are screened against the sex offender registry to protect our students. Click here to complete the Volunteer Interest Form.

The attached Volunteer Handbook provides information on volunteer guidelines and potential opportunities. Each volunteer should complete the Registration Form and the Code of Ethics and submit along with a valid photo ID to the school office.

Please contact Gloria Rockhold at (434) 293-0288, for assistance.
