The Ed Ford Fund for Educational and Vocational Support The Ed Ford Fund was created to encourage adults in financial need to continue their educational or vocational experience in order to create opportunities for themselves and their families. Previous recipients have used this scholarship for college tuition and to purchase books and classroom materials. Named in honor of Edward R. Ford, a child of the Great Depression who, through hard work and dedication, built a successful life for himself and his family, the Ed Ford Fund was created for those who, like Ed, strive to create a better world for themselves and for others by furthering their education or by being trained in a particular trade. Income guidelines for the Ed Ford Fund mirror those of the Albemarle County Social Services Food Stamp Program ( click HERE for more information ). Grants range from $750 - $1500. Applicants must show eligibility for employment in the United States. Referrals from your nominating teacher and additional references are required. Grant recipients for the 2009/2010 school year will be announced in July 2009.
