Walton PTO meetings are typically scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the library at Walton Middle School. (No January meeting)

NOMINATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED...

  • ... for the Secretary and Treasurer positions on the PTO Board for the 2010-11 School year.  To nominate an individual or express interest in filling these positions, please contact any board member listed below.  It is highly recommended that you appear at the MAY 19TH PTO meeting if you are interested in filling either position.  Please contact Tonia Newton  if more information is needed. 
    • All Walton students and family members are stake holders in the Walton PTO!  Everyone is encouraged to attend a meeting, feel the energy, and decide for him or herself how involved you'd like to be.  There's room for everyone!  These meetings are NOT closed-groups sessions. 

TALENT SHOW

  • The Walton Talent Show will be hosted by John Worozbyt this year and as always it is sponsored by the PTO.  While and evening presentation is not going to be possible, all parents and members of the community are invited to share in the fun during the school-day on June 3rd.  More details are forthcoming.  In the mean time, please call or  email Mr. Worozbyt if you have questions.  This is an exciting event that you won't want to miss!!!

8th GRADE CELEBRATION

  • Donations of snacks & drinks are now being accepted for the reception following the 8th grade graduation on the evening of June 10th.  The celebration will be held in our own Walton Gym this year!  The PTO recruits help from 6th & 7th grade familes to sponsor a reception for all 8th graders and their families immediatley following the commencement.  If you can donate cookies, misc. snacks, and/or drinks, please send them to the school marked "ATTN: PTO".  Please contact Tonia Newton at 295-7878 or by email  if you have questions or can offer assistance the night of the event.     

FIELD DAY

  • The Great & Wonderful PE staff at Walton, is working hard to plan a successful FIELD DAY event for all the students!  This event has been sponsored by the PTO for a number of years!  This year the PTO is providing $1,000 toward making the event a day to remember!!!  Please be on the lookout (or listen) for more information about the big-day!

    • Ongoing monthly treat for Walton Staff

    • November 7th was a huge success!

  • √ Expo Night
    • December 3rd  was AWESOME! We had over 400 people in attendance!  We served 300 plates of Big Jim's BBQ & Fried Chicken with Macaroni & Cheese and Baked Beans & Salad & hot cookies! The meal was DELICOUS, the social-time was out of this world!  Thanks so much to everyone who participated!  **   A Super-Huge THANKS to our Custodial staff and Kitchen staff for all their hard-work! Definitely a MUST-DO again!

 

  •   √  Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Friday, May 7th

    •   Thanks to Gwen Lappley, Mary North, and all the volunteers they recruited to provide a successful luncheon for all the Walton Staff on Friday, May 7th in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.  This event is sponsored by the PTO every year and is well received by all!  To contribute to this event in the 2010-11 school year, or to inquire about the organization of such an event, please contact any member of the PTO Board.
