Capital Improvement Projects

CIP Budget

Building Services oversees the budgeting, planning and management of CIP projects for the School Division.

For detailed information regarding Albemarle County's CIP policies and potential future school projects, please consult the CIP Budget for 2007/08 through 2011/2012, which was approved by the School Board on December 14, 2006, by clicking HERE .  On September 11, 2007, the Long Range Planning Advisory Committee submitted the Recommended CIP to the School Board.  The School Board will act on the Recommended CIP at the September 25, 2008 School Board meeting.  The Recommended CIP can be viewed by clicking HERE .

Additionally, future CIP projects are planned with community development and expansion in mind. Each year the office of Geographic Data Systems prepares the Residential Development Index (RDI). It shows, in chart and map form, where development in Albemarle County is occurring, and thus where population (and the need for schools) is growing.
