Monticello High School's Make a Difference Fund

SchoolCenter Picture

The Make a Difference Fund is for students who are in need. This fund is available for families to help support the academic needs of their child.  Families in need of financial assistance for academic support should call their school counselor to request help.  The school counselor will then contact Ms. Bertola who is the head of the Make a Difference Committee. The committee is comprised of 4 individuals from the school: a school counselor, the school social worker, the career counselor and a secretary who works with the families who are on free/reduced lunch. All requests will go to the committee who will then decide if the request will be funded and if so, how much.

Examples of requests that have been funded in the past include:

  • Clothing
  • School supplies
  • Supplies for teachers who are working with students who are in need.
  • Fees for courses: Photography, Ceramics, Art, CATEC, Consumer Economics, Dresses for Choir
  • Field trip fees
  • Food for families
  • College Applications & testing
  • Exam fees:  CNA certification
  •  Books for Dual Enrollment classes

Through the "Make a Difference Fund", many students needs have been met.  This past year alone the fund has donated over $ 2,000.00 towards helping students and their families.

To make a contribution, please send your check to the Monticello Bookkeeper made payable to Monticello High School noting that it is for the MAD Fund.
