THE CAT AND THE HAT COMES BACK

 

A smiling Cat in the Hat is just one of many book characters participating in the Storybook Character Parade. Students, teachers, and staff dress as characters from their favorite books and stories.

PUMPKINS, PUMPKINS EVERYWHERE

Students and their adult buddies have a great time decorating pumpkins and cookies during the first COSTS (Connecting Our Students, Teachers, and Staff) event of the school year.

THE TRIPLE C CHALLENGE

Woodbrook 5th graders conquer challenges together at Triple C Camp as part of an annual field trip. A big thanks to the Woodbrook PTO for their support of this effort!

Congratulations Nurse Betsy Krull!
 
Nurse Betsy Krull wrote a grant for our school facility to receive an AED and her grant was one of 100 selected out of over 600 grant applications! Ms. Heather Chico (left) and Mr. Daniel Hairston (right) are pictured here with Nurse Betsy as representatives from CINTAS First Aid and Safety.  Thanks to Nurse Betsy and CINTAS for their efforts on behalf of our school community!

ANNUAL SCHOOL-WIDE

FIELD TRIP

Students learn about mid-19th century German farms as a part of  Woodbrook's school-wide field trip to Staunton's Frontier Culture  Museum.

ADDING COLOR TO A CLOUDY DAY...

  Kindergarten students and parents have fun together tie-dying tee-shirts. The shirts and beautiful colors were provided through a PTO-funded grant to create shirts for the kindergarten students to wear on upcoming field trips.


Virginia Department of Education Releases H1N1 Information Videos for Parents

 

  The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Health, has produced two videos to inform parents and school personnel of the steps they can take to prevent the spread of H1N1 A Influenza (also known as "swine flu") and seasonal influenza.   The videos - "H1N1 for Parents" and "H1N1 for Educators" - are available for viewing on the VDOE H1N1 A Influenza Web site.
