![]() On September 8, 1992 Agnor Hurt Elementary School opened its doors for the first time to approximately 480 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The students were reassigned to Agnor Hurt from Cale, Greer, Hollymead, and Woodbrook. The new school gained its official name in the spring of 1991, honoring both Albemarle's former county executive, Guy Agnor, and long-time Albemarle educator and principal, Benjamin Hurt. Mr. Agnor was a native of Lexington, Virginia and lived in Albemarle County for over twenty years. Mr. Hurt is a native of Farmville, Virginia and has been a resident of Albemarle County since graduating from college. |
