Volleyball :  Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball team for a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-21) victory over Sherando last night in the Region II Semifinals.  The team will host Loudoun County in the Region II Finals on Saturday at 7:00pm.  Let's all get out and support the girls as they strive for their first Region II championship!

Field Hockey :  Congratulations to the Field Hockey team for capturing the Region II Championship this past Saturday.  The team defeated Orange 2-1 in overtime and advances to the State semifinals Monday Nov. 16 at 3:00pm in Virginia Beach.  Good luck girls!!!

FALL SPORTS BANQUET will be held on Thursday, November 19 at 6:30 pm in the WAHS Main Gym. Parents and athletes are invited to attend this annual event that recognizes Western Albemarle fall teams & athletes.  This will be a desserts & drinks event.  Pizza will be provided for fall athletes who have practice with a winter sport.

WINTER SPORTS TRYOUTS :  Tryouts for all winter sports begin on Monday, November 16. Athletes must have a VHSL Physical form on file with the WAHS Athletics Department before the athlete will be allowed to participate in tryouts. WINTER SPORTS PARENTS MEETINGS :  November 23 at 7:00 pm in WAHS Cafeteria. Parents of athletes on winter sports teams are requested to attend. Coaches will discuss their philosophies and share helpful information in preparation for the season.

TENTATIVE WINTER SPORTS SCHEDULES :  Winter Sport Schedules are posted under "team pages" on the WAHS Sports Webpage. There will be some changes and we ask that you check for updates periodically.  Final schedules should be posted by December 1.  PLEASE NOTE SOME TEAMS HAVE EVENTS OVER WINTER BREAK.
